¿Que es el Programa HEP de GED?

¡Hola! me llamo Ambar Meneses, y soy la reclutadora y consejera académica del Programa HEP, un programa gratis de GED y HSED, dos opciones de equivalencia de bachillerato/ preparatoria en Español (o en Inglés) a corto plazo para trabajadores agrícolas y sus familiares cercanos en Wisconsin. El Programa HEP es ¡completamente gratis! porque es financiado con una subvención federal, dinero otorgado por el gobierno de Estados Unidos.

¿Quienes califican para el Programa HEP? ¿Quienes son los estudiantes actualmente en el Programa HEP?

La mayoría de nuestros estudiantes actuales son Latinos ya adultos que están completando el GED/ HSED en Español y tomando las clases de ingles gratis de Madison College. Ellos viven en diferentes partes de Wisconsin, donde ellos o un familiar cercano ha trabajado en la agricultura en los últimos dos años (que es un requisito). Ellos han trabajado o aun trabajan en granjas, fincas o ranchos cultivando y cosechando vegetales o verduras, ordeñando y cuidando vacas, criando pollos y recogiendo huevos, etc.

¿Porque es buena idea conseguir el diploma de high school o GED?

Hay muchos trabajadores agrícolas que no han podido obtener su diploma de bachillerato o high school por circunstancias de la vida. Este diploma o su equivalente, el GED o HSED, brinda muchos beneficios. Entre ellos están la mejoría de su autoestima, la capacidad de ayudar a sus hijos en la escuela, la oportunidad de aprender inglés, de mejorar su puesto y que le paguen mejor, o de poder continuar y completar un certificado o diploma técnico en carreras cortas.

What is the HEP GED Program? Hello! My name is Ambar Meneses, and I am the recruiter and academic advisor for the HEP Program, a free GED and HSED program, two short-term high school equivalency options in Spanish or English for agricultural workers and immediate family in Wisconsin. The HEP Program is completely free because it is funded by a federal grant through the United States government.

Who qualifies for the HEP Program? Who are the students currently in the HEP Program? Most of our current students are Latino adults who are completing the GED / HSED in Spanish and taking free English classes. Why is getting a high school diploma or GED a good idea? There are many farm workers who have not been able to obtain their high school diploma due to life’s circumstances. This diploma or its equivalent, the GED or HSED provides many benefits. These include improved self-esteem, the ability to help your children in school, the opportunity to learn English, to improve your position, improve wages or to complete a technical certificate.
